About

Heal your inner child and re-parent with kindness.

Jess graduated from University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology-Substance Abuse Studies and Masters of Arts in Substance Abuse Studies. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Mental Health (License #1321) who is passionate about helping others to overcome their addictions and mental health issues. She is a professional member of National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (#179246). Jess’s own personal recovery story has led her on her path to being a substance abuse counselor that values holistic health and lifestyle medicine. Jess has been living a whole food plant based (WFPB) lifestyle for over four years which is a part of her recovery path. Her WFPB lifestyle path led her to discovering an excitement of helping others who struggle with the mindset changes necessary when overcoming years of diet culture toxicity, societal influences, and negative self-talk. Jess has always been a teacher at heart. Driven by wanting to see her profession flourish, Jess is dedicated to helping new addiction professionals starting out through license supervision. She enjoys researching on out of the box topics and providing presentations that create discussions or innovative thinking in the field. Jess experiences joy when helping other professionals learn more about addictions. Outside of work, Jess enjoys being creative either in the kitchen with WFPB recipes or crocheting. She enjoys reading fantasy, non-fiction, and professional development books. She can also be found cuddling with her furbabies, playing video games with her husband, engaging in yoga/DDPY, or going on hikes with friends. Her supports are her husband, family, friends, and the wonderful WFPB support group peeps.
